Somatic Experiencing
Somatic Experiencing is a modality that helps work with the stuck energy of trauma in the body in a way that is supported and titrated in order to not re-traumatize the individual. Linda has completed a three year program in Somatic Experiencing™ qualifying her to work with both shock trauma and developmental trauma. She enjoys teaching trauma concepts in everyday language to both practitioners and clients.
Contemplative Spiritual Direction
Spending meditative time in silence, stillness and solitude nourish all that I do. Training in contemplative spiritual direction helped me learn to ask evocative questions, hold sacred space for those exploring the spiritual, and offer mindful exercises to help deepen connection. The threads of our story told through our physiology can be brought together resulting in new insights. At one point in my own journey, I sought to find a monk who understood trauma. What I discovered was a beautiful blend of the spiritual and the psychological.
Imago
Supporting couples has been a delightful discovery of a love I did not know I had. Merging the other two practice modalities into couples work created a desire to learn more and Imago has been a beautiful compliment adding extra support to my areas of expertise. My clients often comment on my ability to hold space for both parties and to help them notice patterns deeper beneath the surface.
Why I do this work?
- Trauma and the everyday stress of living in a culture that is always “on”can interfere with our regulation and relationships.
- Attentiveness and awareness are very difficult to practice when our internal world is screaming.
- Unfinished business comes up when we quiet ourselves without numbing.
Acknowledging your relationship might need the support of a therapist can be the best first step toward caring for your own inner life. My desire is to offer a safe space that welcomes all nervous systems, personal experiences and holds a range of spiritual life from exploration to deconstruction. Together we will co- create a journey toward resting in safety and healing in love.
