Crisis and Suicide Assessment and Intervention RECORDING

Regardless of our specialty, therapists inevitably encounter those who are in crisis or contemplating suicide as an answer to pain. If unprepared or in denial (or both), we can miss the opportunity to help our clients safely traverse this painfully dark and dangerous place, into hope and healing.

Why are some people more susceptible and seemingly less resilient than others? How can we help our clients experience hope and support? How does a therapist’s own anxiety show up? In this training, participants will learn about types of crises, suicide risk factors, warning signs, assessment and intervention strategies. In addition, we’ll explore our own biases and fears, and learn to more confidently ask hard questions, assess and intervene effectively.
