The Power of Difference:
From Awareness to Appreciation

Presented by Sonali Sadequee and Trisha Sanders

Friday, April 24, 2026

10am Pacific, 11am Mountain, 12pm Central, 1pm Eastern for 3 hours

Deepening Connection Through Difference

Avoiding conversations about difference might feel easier—but it also limits connection, empathy, and understanding. This experiential workshop invites therapists to lean into curiosity about identities such as race, class, gender, ability, and faith, discovering how difference can enrich rather than divide. With guidance from Sonali Sadequee and Trisha Sanders of IRNA’s Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) Circle, participants will explore what it truly means to value diversity as a relational strength.

Using Imago Intentional Dialogue and other experiential exercises, this session creates space for authentic sharing, reflection, and connection. You’ll practice cultural humility and gratitude, learn to move from curiosity into celebration, and leave with practical tools and a personal action plan to integrate these insights into both your clinical practice and daily life.

Learning Objectives

After this session, participants will be able to:

  • Engage in Imago Intentional Dialogue to authentically explore and reflect on personal and client identity differences, practicing mirroring, validation, and empathy.
  • Move from simple curiosity to active celebration by recognizing and naming cultural gratitude—valuing how differences enrich relationships and clinical work.
  • Develop a personalized action plan to integrate cultural humility and gratitude into daily life and therapeutic practice to foster deeper connection and inclusion.

This webinar will be presented online via Zoom and is intended for Imago Professionals of all levels.
