Dr. Carol Robbins is a clinical psychologist who provides a specialty practice for all of your ADD needs with the expertise and compassion that you deserve. Are you tired of getting the run-around? Of being told that you are just stressed, depressed or anxious, but you know that there is more to it than that? Trust me to provide you with the consideration and understanding of a professional who has the clinical knowledge and the personal lived-experience of raising ADHD children and marrying an ADHD spouse. I care and I get it! Specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD across the lifespan.
My treatment approach emphasizes helping clients develop more “ADD-friendly” lives through teaching life management skills, compensatory strategies, appropriate workplace/academic accommodations and organizational skills in a semi-structured cognitive-behavioral framework. I focus on teaching brain-based treatments that improve executive functioning and self-regulation, including the use of Cogmed, a working memory program.
I educate my clients about living with ADD and addressing the emotional fallout of struggling with this brain difference. This includes helping them to define themselves by their strengths, rather than by their weaknesses, and to re-envision themselves and their story through the lens of having ADHD. I offer Imago Relationship Therapy for couples.
