From CPTK Learner to CPTK Leader: Train to Teach

Connected Parents, Thriving Kids (CPTK) offers practical, Imago-based tools to help adults create safer, more connected relationships with children. Anyone can take the CPTK course and begin using these tools in their everyday lives.

CPTK: Train to Teach is a live, online training designed specifically for licensed mental health clinicians who want to teach the CPTK course to parents and communities in their own professional settings. You’ll deepen your understanding of Imago-informed parenting, practice teaching the material, and gain the confidence to guide groups through this powerful program.

Across interactive Zoom sessions, you will:

  • Learn effective ways to address common parenting and behavior challenges
  • Explore your own strengths and growing edges as a presenter
  • Practice teaching CPTK content in a supportive, feedback-rich environment
  • Leave with a clear roadmap and structure for offering CPTK in your context
Learning Objectives & Agenda

After this course, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss and give examples illustrating effective approaches to parenting challenges

  • Demonstrate your understanding of the Imago Parenting principles and technology

  • Evaluate your own blocks, barriers and brilliance

  • Interpret issues underlying common behavioral challenges

  • Trace reactive patterns to likely unresolved issues

  • Identify and describe childhood relational traumas

  • Prepare material appropriate to the expected attendant population

  • Calculate appropriate management of attendant needs and challenges

  • Practice your presentation skills in a safe supportive space.

About Marcia

Marcia Ferstenfeld, M.A., CIRT, CI is known for her keen grasp of the heart of Imago theory and practice. She has been a moving force in Imago since 1993. Marcia brings warmth, humor, clarity, knowledge and intuition to her teaching which creates a learning environment that benefits every learning style.  Since training in Communologue, in 2003 in New Mexico, Marcia has led and participated in community dialogues in Michigan, Vienna, Atlanta, New Jersey, Chicago, Baltimore and more.

Marcia works to create a safe environment that allows participants to stretch into their potential, and do the work of growth and healing, both personally and professionally. The core of her clinical practice, Imago has transformed her work. Until his death after 61 years of marriage, Marcia was assisted by her husband, Larry. Together they brought a wealth of insight and experience gleaned from their personal devotion to their own evolving Imago relationship and their 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. 

Continuing Education (Not Available)

Cancellation

Registration cancellations made up to 30 days prior to the start of the course (the date of the first live class) will be canceled at no cost. Cancellations made between 30 days and 1 week prior to the start of the course will be refunded minus a $50 administrative fee. Cancellations made less than one week prior to the start of the course will be refunded minus a $100 administrative fee. No refunds will be given for cancellations after the first live class.
